Case Study 7 – Biosecurity Managers Group implementation of NPD for Pest Management

The National Policy Direction for Pest Management (NPD) created a new set of requirements on regional councils to show how proposed Good Neighbour Rules for clearing of pests on boundaries meet various cost benefit tests.  LWP led a multidisciplinary team including AgResearch, Wildlands and Lincoln University, to develop a model which allows biosecurity managers to simply and easily test whether their proposed rules are likely to meet the NPD requirements.
