LWP partnered with NIWA to help the Ministry for the Environment prepare a draft national guide to communicating and managing uncertainty when implementing the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management (NPSFM). The project drew on LWP’s range of biophysical, economic and stakeholder engagement experience helping numerous regional councils to implement the NPSFM. The project involved gathering contributions from New Zealand researchers and practitioners, and from the international literature, and then testing draft concepts and guidance material with a Regional Council Review panel.
